This page covers the NearBuyNow website. It explains what we collect when you join the waitlist or tell us about your business, and nothing else, because that is all this website does. The NearBuyNow app is not available yet and will have its own privacy notice when it is.

Who we are

NearBuyNow Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17475887, registered office 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, United Kingdom, WC1N 3AX. We are the data controller for the information described here. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office; our registration number is ZC256367.

For anything on this page, email privacy@nearbuynow.co.uk.

If you join the waitlist

What we collect. Your first name, your mobile number and your postcode.

What we do with it. We text you about joining NearBuyNow, and nothing else. A text straight away to confirm you are on the list. Then, when the NearBuyNow app goes live in your area, a text with a link to download it. If you have not joined by then, up to two reminders, each a month apart. Those are the only texts we send to that number.

We will not send you deals by text. Deals are only sent as notifications through the app, after you have installed it and separately agreed to them. There is no text message or WhatsApp deal service.

Joining the waitlist is not signing up for deals. Until you download the app and complete sign up there, you are not subscribed to anything.

Your postcode. We keep your postcode. We use it to decide when to text you: your launch text goes when NearBuyNow goes live in the area your postcode is in. We also use it to see which areas people are joining from. We never ask for your address.

Our lawful basis is your consent, and for the text message itself, regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. We record which version of our sign up wording you saw and the date and time you agreed to it, so we can always tell you exactly what you were told.

Wherever you live, you can join. We are rolling out town by town, so we keep your details until we reach your area, and text you then.

How long we keep it. Until we go live in your area and have sent you our texts. We delete your details 90 days after the last text we send you, whether or not you have joined the app. If you join the app, you give it your details again there, and the app's own privacy notice covers them. Once your details are deleted they are gone: we do not keep a copy in case you come back.

Your launch text will say when you joined, so you know why we are getting in touch, however long ago it was.

Stopping. Reply STOP to any of our texts and we will not contact you again. We then delete your details, keeping only a fingerprint of your number: not the number itself, and it cannot be turned back into it. We keep that so we can check against it and never text you by accident. You can also email us at any time and we will delete your details.

If you tell us about your business

What we collect. The business name, the kind of business it is, a phone number, an email address and the business postcode.

What we do with it. When you send the form, we email you, and text you if you gave a mobile number, to confirm we have your details. When we reach your area we email you, and before we launch there we call you to help you get set up. We use the postcode to know which area your business is in. That is what the form says and it is all we use your details for. They are never sold, and shared only with our provider that sends the message.

Listing is free and posting a deal is paid. Being in the local directory costs nothing, whether or not you ever post a deal.

Our lawful basis is your consent. You gave us your email and number in order to be contacted.

How long we keep it. Twelve months from the last time we contacted you. If you become a customer, your details move into your business account, and our business terms and privacy notice cover them from then on. If nobody has contacted you in a year, we delete them: an enquiry nobody followed up is not a reason for us to keep your number.

Who we share information with

The company that sends our text messages, and Microsoft, whose service sends our emails. Nobody else. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for anybody else's marketing.

A current list of our suppliers is available on request: email privacy@nearbuynow.co.uk and we will send it to you.

Where your information is held

On servers in the United Kingdom. Our text message supplier processes message content and recipient numbers in the United States, so your mobile number and the text of any message we send you leave the United Kingdom. That transfer is governed by our written data processing agreement with that supplier, which sets out the safeguards they are required to apply. If you want to know what those safeguards are, email privacy@nearbuynow.co.uk and we will tell you.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to what we are doing with it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Email privacy@nearbuynow.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

Children

This website is not for children. We do not knowingly collect information about anybody under 16.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies and does not contact any other company when you visit it: the typefaces and pictures, like everything else on the page, are served from our own server. Nothing is stored on your device, so there is nothing for you to consent to and no cookie banner to click.

We do count how the site is used, on our own server. We count how many times each page is opened, how many people press the button to join, how many send the form and what it told them. We also count any fault a browser reports, so we can fix it. These are totals for a day and nothing more. We do not record your address, your device, a session or anything else that could tell one visit from another, so we cannot tell whether you came back and we could not identify you if we wanted to. Nothing goes to any other company, and there is no analytics service involved.

We checked this rather than assuming it, most recently on 29 September 2026, by loading every page of this website in a browser, scrolling through it and using the forms, then reading everything a website is able to store and every request it made. We keep the check and its results, so it can be run again whenever the site changes. If we ever add anything that stores information on your device, we will change this page and ask for your consent first.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or call 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this page

If we change what we do with your information, we change this page and record the date. We keep every previous version of our sign up wording, so what you agreed to on the day you signed up does not change afterwards.
